7.2 Facing
(a) Classes 25 and 125 gray iron flanges and flangedfittings shall be flat faced (i.e.,without projection orraised face) and finished in accordance w ith MsS SP-6.
(b)Class 250 flanges and flanged fittings shall havea 2 mm (0.06 in.) raised face of the diam eters given inTable 2 and finished in accordance w ith MsS SP-6.Theraised face is included in the minimum flange thicknessand center-to-face dimension.
7.3 Center-to-Face Dimensions
7.3.1 Side Outlet Fittings. Side outlet elbow s, sideoutlet tees, and sideoutlet crosses shall haveall openingson intersecting centerlines.Long-radius elbows withside outlet shall have the side outlet on the radial center-line of the elbow.
7.3.2 Elbows
(a) The center-to-face dimensions for straight-size9o-deg elbow s,90-deg long-radius elbow s, 45-degelbow s, side-outlet 9o-deg elbow s, and double-branchelbow s are shown in Tables 3, 4,and 5.
(b) Reducing 90-deg elbows,reducing 90-deg long-radius elbows, reducing side-outlet 90-deg elbow s, andreducing double-branch elbow s shall have the samecenter-to-face dim ensionsas straight-size fittings shownin Tables 3, 4,and 5 corresponding to the size of thelargest opening.
(c) For 9o-deg long-radius elbows with side outlet, the center-to-face dim ensions of the side outlet shall bethe same as dimension A in Tables 3, 4,and 5 for astraight-size 90-deg elbow corresponding to the size ofthe largest opening.
(d)Special-degree elbow s ranging from 1 deg to45 deg, inclusive, shall have the same center-to-facedim ensionsas those for 45-deg elbows those ov er 45 degand up to 90 deg, inclusive, shall have the same center-to-face dimensionsasthose for 90-deg elbow s.The angled esignation of an elbow is the angle betw een theflange faces.
7.3.3 Tees,Crosses,and Laterals
(a) The center-to-face dimensions for straight-sizetees and crosses, with or without side outlet, and lateralsare shown in Tables 3,4,and 5.
(b) Reducing tees and reducing crosses, with or with-out side outlet, and reducing laterals, NPS 16 andsmaller, shall have the same center-to-face dimensionsas straight-size fittings shown in Tables 3,4,and 5corres-ponding to the size of the largest opening. For NPS 18and larger, if the outlet of a reducing tee the branch ofa reducing lateral or the largest outlet of a reducing side outlet tee, reducing cross, and reducing side outletcross is the same size or smaller than given in Tables 3,4,and 5(short body pattern),the center-to-face dim ensionsshown in these Tables shall be used. If a branch or anyoutlet is larger than shown in Tables 3, 4and 5. thecenter-to-face dimensions shall be the same as for thestraight-size fitting shown in Tables 3, 4, and 5 corres-ponding to the size of the largest opening.Tees, crosses, and laterals, reducing on the run only, shall have thesame center-to-face dim ensions as straight-size fittingsshown in Tables 3, 4,and 5 corresponding to the sizeof the largest opening.
(c) Tees reducing on both runs are generally know nas bull-head tees and have the same center-to-facedimensions as straight-size fittings corresponding to thesize of the outlet.
7.3.4 True Y’s. Center-to-face dim ensions forstraight-size true Y sare shown in Tables 4 and 5.Reduc-ing sizes are considered special and should be made tosuit conditions.
7.3.5 Reducers and Eccentric Reducers. The face-to-face dim ensions for all reductions of reducers andeccentric reducers shall be the same as given in Tables 4and 5 for the largest opening.
7.4 Center-to-Face Tolerances
The follow ing tolerances shall be permitted on allcenter-to-contact surface dim ensions of fittings Toler-ances for contact surface-to-contact surface dim ensionsshall be twice those given below. The largest openingin the fitting governs the tolerance to be applied to allopenings.
