BS EN 15655-2:2020 pdf free download – Ductile iron pipes, fittings and accessories一 Requirements and test methods for organic linings of ductile iron pipes and fittings Part 2: Thermoplastic Acid Modified Polyolefin (TMPO) lining of pipes.
3.10
performance test
test which is done once and is repeated according to a schedule or after relevant change of lining material and/or material supplier or change in process application
3.11
routine test
test carried out to control the manufacturing process with a frequency defined by the manufacturer
3.12
designated zones
areas of a casting where because of jointing tolerance restrictions, testing difficulties, or shrouding by a gasket, etc. a lower standard of lining performance is unavoidable
Note 1 to entry: Note 1 to entry: For the purpose of this standard these areas are defined as:
— joint areas;
— permitted markings;
— edges
6.5 Abrasion resistance (only for waste water application)
When tested in accordance with 7.2.6, the pipes shall not have an abrasion depth greater than 0,2 mm
after 100 000 movements (50 000 cycles).
6.6 Materials in contact with water intended for human consumption
When used under the conditions for which they are designed, in permanent or in temporary contact with water intended for human consumption, the TMPO lining applied on ductile iron pipes shall not change the quality of that water to such an extent that it fails to comply with the requirements of national regulations.
For this purpose, reference shall be made to the relevant national regulations and standards, transposing EN standards when available, dealing with the influence of materials on water quality and to the requirements for external systems and components as given in EN 805.
NOTE A guidance on existing national regulations is given in CEN/TR 16950.
7 Test methods
7.1 Routine tests
7.1.1 General
The following routine tests shall be carried out to control the lining production process in order to obtain a stable lining of high quality.
Information on quality assurance is given in Annex A.
7.1.2 Surface preparation
The surface of the component shall be checked according to EN ISO 8501-1.
The manufacturer shall specify the preparation grade (see Sd).
7.1.3 Appearance and continuity
The appearance of the finished lining shall be checked according to ENiSOAhZ.
7.1.4 Lining thickness
The thickness of the lining shall be measured with non-destructive instruments (e.g. based on magnetic or electro-magnetic principles) which have a measuring accuracy of ± 2 %.
A minimum of 10 measurements evenly distributed over the circumference at each end of the pipe (between 100 mm and 300 mm after the spigot end and socket end) shall be carried out prior to the determination of the minimum value.
